Hit the Trail 5

Hit the Trail 5 miler, Sunday 5th January 2014

A very scenic 5 mile trail race around Reddish Vale park with plenty of sharp ascents and some great descents. It was a muddy course, but in the main this did not affect the pace of the race, unlike the Birchwood cross country mud bath from the previous day. It was a husband and wife battle up the final 400 metre climb to the finish but I showed her who is boss-this time!!! Well done to Di for breaking the course record and well done to the other winners.

1st Michael Robinson (Tamar Trotters) 21:11
7th Allan McCormick                     29:32
9th Diane McVey 1st Lady              29:37
17 Sharon Johnstone 2nd Lady       30:51
66th Tony Hulme 1st vet 65           36:18
77th Oliver Johnstone                   37:18
247 finished

  1. Its a cracking park for running in…One I have previously used, and still do on occasions.
    Nick.

  2. Is the winner’s time correct Al? 4:14 miling all the way? Well done to you, Di and Sharon after running Saturday’s mud fest!

  3. well done all.. Alan – your success was probably due to Di not letting you have that second bit of cake at Cross Country

  4. Winner 27.ii , Exceptional running frome Alan ,Diane, and Sharon. I usually reckon this race to be 1 to 1.5 mins slower than Chester spring 5 ,depending on strength of wind . Should be interesting as its also a cheshire grand prix race.
