Dunham Massey and Mobberley

I have been away for 10 days so may be guilty of charging into an issue that has been thoroughly and thoughtfully debated – however, there seems to me to be a lot of legitimate complaints from members who have pre-entered Dunham but can’t do Mobberley – see the ‘Comments’ under the Shady Oak piece.

If it were felt that it would be unfair to include Dunham, even though people had had three months notice, to then bring-in Mobberley, with only two weeks notice, when it is in Bank Holiday/Half Term week, would seem even more unfair on those who are excluded.

The diplomatic solution may be to include neither.

  1. Ian’s solution of including neither race in the Summer Series has merit, however, as the number who have pre-entered Dunham continues to grow it does seem unfair to exclude it. As Ian says, we have all had 3 months to enter.

  2. Two further solutions would be:
    (1) Take the results from Mobberley and Dunham races and rank according to best relative position.
    (2) Include the 2nd Dunham 5k – take the results from both Dunham races and rank according to best relative position.
Both of these would require “Ian work”.
I’m sorry if I was the one who kicked this all off – I’m quite happy to run both and give all my points to charity …

The other option would be to include both. This would avoid any rework and allow those who pre entered Dunham and those who have entered Mobberley both to count.

  4. Having pre entered both I would gladly go along with John’s idea……

  5. I entered the 5k GP to get into this race…but hope to run both
