A busy weekend with Marathons, summer series and other adventures in the mix. But a sunny Saturday morning brought out 20 club runners to run at 10 parkrun events.
It will be interesting to see who ran and then competed Sunday.
Up in Cumbria, Mike let his shoes do the talking at Tarn Country Park! A strong run saw him third runner home and top his Age Category [AC]. Another solo parkrunner, Janine, returned to Didsbury after 3 years absence and ran her fastest parkrun since November. It was the 100th parkrun there – I wonder whether they had sparkly for the finishers? !! keeping with the solos: AndrewG jogged around Stretford – his time suggests a Saturday Jog or he’d cruise a marathon about 3:40!! IanS chose grass and solitude and a quickish time saw him top his Age Category by 2 seconds. Richard took on Lyme Park and ran a good time. Matt returned to God’s country to first time at Rotherham. Jarrod returned to Burnage after 4 years absence and ran his consistent 20:40ish time.
Now for the popular events.
At Bramhall Rob was back parkrunning after a couple months off. No change as he ran his consistent 18 and half pace and topped the Age Grade there again. Graham and Paul were taking it easy!
At Wilmslow, where they had their 300th event they didn’t get the 300 runners they hoped for [236 ran].
But young Sam PB’d by 26 seconds but could only finish Second. Ashley third also PB’d. This time 20 seconds quicker than his 2019 time. Graham pacing 22 minutes and Nic – out of isolation, back running and back to his 24 minutes pace. Nicky directed,; Don, John, and the Harrison’s helped out.
Most runners chose the quick Alexandra parkrun event. Five. And an ex-member. Carolyn first timed. Soraya running her 24 minute consistent pace finished behind Sue who PB’d by nearly 3 minutes. Alan led the gang home – he was quite close to his PB. Chris PB’d by 6 seconds. It was his best time this year. Roy PB’d by 24 seconds. The only downside was that our Breakfast Critic found out that their menu is Vegan!!

Thanks Patrick for your usual great round-up of ParkRun results. I had a good run chasing Chris which helped us both to a PB. As you say, Chris was not best pleased with a Vegan breakfast menu! Good to have Soraya running with us again, she and Sue, running together, passed me in the early stages.
