Wilmslow Club runners Parkrun results 12th March

A brief report this week as we all push forward to get the WRF on track for next Saturday/Sunday.

22 Club runners at 11 courses.

IanS returned to York after a couple of years absence. He equalled last week’s times which was his quickest for months.

RichardL closing in on his 200^th parkrun went to Hyde Park – north Manchester not London!

Mike back in Cumbria after a couple of moths PB’d by 7 seconds.  Colin took it easy at a quiet Cheadle.

Looking at the pairs we had out. At a busy Stretford Rebecca matched her previous sub-23-minute run there. Julian first timed and had his quickest run since Jan 20. The breakfast team went to Didsbury where the food is excellent. At Salford’s Ally Park Nic performed sub-24 yet again. Alan had a quiet run.

The Gentlemen’s Club went to Lyme Park and spotted Malcolm – who despite having a niggling injury still finished 6th with his quickest time this year. Ian ran well  and Roy will look forward to another visit – this time in Summer!

The quick guys chose Congleton:  Tim and RichardH were second and third. Both PB’d. Tim by 1 second was also top on AG with 84.92%

Most club runners were at Bramhall. Graham was first Club runner home. Both him and his missus wee top in their Age Categories [AC]. Matt ran his fastest time since 2019. Mark returned to park running after a 3 year absence.  PaulN had his fastest time since last October. All top in their ACs except Matt who was second.

One less runner at Wilmslow. All our runners were top in their ACs. Wilmslow parkrun welcomed the graduates of Styal Running Club’s Couch to 5k course, all 20 of them running their very first parkrun after 9 weeks of training. Styal members were out in force in their eye-catching orange shirts to support the newbies! Pushing the number of runners to over 200.  It’s Wilmslow’s 300th parkrun in 3 weeks’ time!

Summary:

• Busiest event: Stretford [524]; Quietest Cheadle [22].
• Tourist of the day: Mike [Penrith]
• Top Age grade at event: Tim, Mike and Andy
• AG 80%+ : Tim [84.92%]
