Summer Series League Tables after Congleton

59 of us have now completed the 7 races to qualify for the Competition and win a mug with their name on it.

Andrew held his lead after Congleton but Barry closed. He and Jim are only two points behind and Tom, two points below them, could also edge it on the hill at Langley. Rob and Damian are coming from further back but both are still in contention.

Allan, Mike, Diane, Sharon and Matt held their places with Brian moving-up into the top 10.

Sharon missed-out on the win at Congleton that would have tied her on 420 points in the Ladies League with Diane McVey. Louisa held-on to third with Janine’s Congleton victory taking her to fourth, one point ahead of Diane Bygrave. Sally Gilliver, Huma, Zoe, Nicky and Gail retained their positions.

The top seven in League 1 are as in the main table then come Graham and Phil.

Brian’s League 2 win at Congleton takes him to joint top with Sharon, both have a perfect, 7-win 420-point score, the possibility of Matt making it a three-way tie remains possible. Janine’s Congleton moves her up to 9th. whilst Andy, another who excelled at Congleton, has moved-up equal with Tim and Paul.  Relegation is probably going to go to a post-season review.

Diane Bygrave’s League 3 win at Congleton takes her to third equal with Tony. They are only a point behind Christian, who, himself is just one point behind Aron.  Gareth, too, has the potential of overhauling them all, so everything to play for at Langley.  Geoff and Nicky are tied at 7th. with Huma only one point behind. In the relegation zone things are looking difficult for both Chris and Alan

Congleton moved Sally Price level with Gail and both threaten Jon’s position in the second promotion place from League 4, although he remains the strong favourite. Bernard cannot yet be crowned champion but with eight wins and the lead at Lyme Park he is a near-certainty. Man of the moment is James who is storming up the table but has left it too late to challenge for promotion. Angela has also moved-up and could well gain more places. The championship of League 5 last year was decided between Cat and Sue in the final mile at Langley. Sue’s performance at Congleton opens the possibility of a repeat to determine which of them retains the League 4 position next year. However, it is just possible that both could survive at the expense of either Carolyn or Sharon

Simon’s win at Congleton both puts him in position to challenge Rachel for the League 5 championship and all-but secures his second place from the threat of Jan and Nina.  Elspeth’s Congleton has taken her above both Sarah and Trevor.

Gail Hill (21 races), Chris Cannon (20), Huma Rahman (18), Ian Ashcroft (17), Tony Hulme (16), Matt Taylor (16), Simon Fenton (16), John Porteus (16), Janine Ellis (15), Nicky Mowat (15), Sharon Johnstone (14), Steve Bunker (14), Gareth Trimble (14), Clare Hawkes (14), Patrick Grannan (14), Geoff Gilbert (14), Paul Norris (14), Allan McCormick (13), Bernard McCarron (13), Don Bullough (13), Louisa Harrison (13), Diane Bygrave (13), Trevor Faulkner (13), Diane McVey (12), Christian Hook (12), Janet Wyles (12), Julie Lucas (12), Tim Billington (12) and Tom McGaff(12) have all, provided they have the minimum 5 races on, and 5 races off, road, qualified for the free 2015 WRC running shirt, sporting their name
