parkrun “Summer Series” Update
Saturday 12/9/15
Plenty of runners at the various parkruns this weekend.
Ian headed for Woodbank to register the first time in the age graded competition finishing in 21.13 with a percentage score of 70.62%. I’m heading there next Saturday after being traumatised at Lyme Park this weekend. I turned up fully intending to knock at least 30 seconds if not more off my time. I met Clare and Belinda so we had a good warm up running up the hill start, in the race I “attacked” the hill using more of my quad muscles as advised by Kate, worked hard all the way around especially on the downhill parts and could not understand why I was a minute slower. Quite relieved in the end as my bar code mustn’t have registered as I am down as an unknown runner, I’d have been a little peed off if it had been a good time.
Clare and Belinda ran here for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the race, Clare finished in a time of 26.06 coming onto the table ahead of Chris G, Belinda in 31.00 just in front of Elspeth. Steve Feber couldn’t improve on his time finished in 33.48.
Usual suspects at South Manc, Huma not improving on her time finished in 22.52 and 4th Lady, Christian just turned up for a stroll, 27.23.
Mick travelled to Congleton for his third ever park run and had a good run in 20.52 coming onto the table just ahead of Janine, Sharon in 18.57 just couldn’t quite improve on her best time.
FYI the last date to register a summer series park run time is Saturday 7th November, the morning of the Langley 7.
