Woodbank Park is a great venue for cross country and the mud was extreme. No less than 4 laps of a variation on the usual course made for a tough event. The downhill section was knee deep in slop and a new uphill line was so steep that most of us were reduced to a stagger while mud rained down on us from runners above. As usual Stockport Harriers laid on great hospitality with homemade soup and hotpot in the clubhouse.
