Damian leads the men home and captures 2nd place in the County Championships

After weeks of rain, we were fortunate to have a mild and dry day…That said the course was most certainly heavy in parts.

While the County Championships dont have the same numbers as the MACCL (which covers a number of counties), it forms a vital part of the XC season to determine County honours, team and individual, but also at the front of the field, to help with County selection for the Inter Counties Championships held in February.

South Cheshire did a great job of hosting the event .

I have a pair of small ladies green booties left: Will keep them in the car .

There was an announcement yesterday of the sad loss of Mike Hancock, a long standing member of Warrington AC and well known coach…Certainly known to Graham and Claire H.The funeral will take place on Tuesday (the 8th) at 10.30 at St Mary's and St Helen's in Neston.

And finally……Next date for the thrills and spills that makes XC the team event that it is and is so well supported by you all is at Boggart Hole Clough on Sunday 13th January. See you all there.

  1. Well done everyone on an enjoyable, if sloppy, course and a great turnout for the club.
I claim the green cut off wellies please Nick, thanks for rescuing them.
Very shocked to hear about Mike. He took me under his wing to coach and advise me when I first started running back in 1984 when we worked together and was often to be seen at our local races where he was always pleased to chat. A really nice guy, totally dedicated to running who will be very sadly missed.
Hope Sharon got home ok and makes a swift recovery.
    Clare
