Summer Series 2009

Records broken ……45 turn out at Bowdon and also by some of the times recorded !

Our Summer Series has gone from strength to strength in recent years and the success can be measured in a number of ways .

  1. The numbers competing
  2. The number of races now in the series
  3. The buzz and competition / camaraderie it creates .

Seeing 45 at Bowdon was just awesome and must be to the amazement of so many other clubs.

The success I feel is down to a number of factors .

  1. The variety of races
  2. The competition created
  3. The League tables produced (Don )and the great updates from Andy Watts / Ian in terms of  the races etc at the head of the home page .
  4. Everyone chasing a mug and TS!!

As Gareth suggested we could soon see a race where "nil points " are achieved.

Its a great sight seeing such a mass of blue and gold.

Some of you may also be aware that behind the scenes , Ian has been working at age graded tables that allow a direct comparison of male/female and also age : Parkrun at Bramhall use this to also allow competitors , be it 56 year old female / 26 year old male , to directly compare performances .

We are hoping to have "statto Ian " to deliver his words of wisdom on how these work . Looking for a date after a Tuesday training when Ian can take 10 minutes to explain the system. Will confirm a date.

The age/sex related are for fun and comparison and dont have any link to any of our competitions ( eg SS).

Away for a few weeks .

See you all soon.

Nick.

I’ll come clean, the lure of ‘Mug and T shirt’ is doing it for me! 🙂
