Amanda’s Bollington 5k

Steve Hanley from Sale Sharks is the celebrity starter and Roary (Macc Town mascot) is doing the warm-up.
It’s a fun run so it is for all of the family – a jog, walk or stroll around the course – all monies taken are added to my marathon sponsorship for Mind (the mental health charity).

if anyone is unable to run but wants to help out on the day, I would really appreciate it.

ADELPHI 5K CHARITY FUN RUN – 20th April 2008

with the London Marathon in MIND

This local charity fun run will take place at 11.00am (warm-up at 10.45) in Bollington, Macclesfield. All proceeds to go to MIND, the UK’s leading mental health charity. Amanda Bradbury of the Cinnamon Agency (part of the Adelphi Group of Companies) is running the London marathon collecting for MIND and all proceeds from the fun run will be added to her marathon sponsorship.

The event is open to all ages, shapes and sizes, as long as you can manage 5k (3.1 miles) at any speed. No big prizes but all entrants will be given a certificate. We want as many people to take part as possible, so tell all your friends and family to come along. Each year, the winner finishes in about 20 minutes but those who come along for the scenery have been known to take over an hour. This is a run with the emphasis on fun – there won’t be any official time-keeping and people of all abilities are more than welcome to participate. If you just want to walk round the course admiring the scenery and taking in some Sunday morning fresh air, then this is the fun run for you. This year we have a celebrity race starter – ROARY, the Macclesfield Town Football Club mascot – the kids (and big kids among you) will love it! He may even join in the warm-up!

Starting at the Adelphi Mill, Grimshaw Lane, Bollington, the scenic route takes you along the Middlewood Way, to the Windmill Inn, and back along the canal tow path with refreshments at the finish.
