Sadly we have had to make the decision not to race at the Nationals this weekend . Kate Ayres had virtually come to that conclusion last Friday due to non availability of runners.
I was leaving the decision as late as possible . I had phoned the EAAA for the entry form last week and it was due back last Friday . I had made a call Friday to the HQ and they had agreed to accept a fax copy today with hard copy and cheque to follow .
Four of the Northern team were unavailable and we have not had success in finding replacements . The concern is that the entry fee does not come cheap and we could have been wasting club funds by entering and still not coming up with a team by the weekend . It would also have meant that those due to run would also have their weekend virtually on hold until we knew if we had a team.
It was a credit too all concerned to qualify ( men and women ) and we should now be prepared to match our talents on a bigger stage . Let’s move on with confidence !!
