As we approach xc league season, the weather has in turn reacted in response!
The new league now comprises the old M&D CCL, Cheshire League and NW Counties Ladies. The season kicks off at Heaton Pk , Saturday 14th October.
I think that Kate S is arranging the ladies.
I am awaiting confirmation of start times (will email out) but I suspect that ladies will be 1.00/1.30 and men 2.30.
We had a super year last year, senior men coming fourth in division one and winning the veterans trophy. Our aim this year is to repeat the veterans win but ……..aiming high ……break into the top three in division one. No reason why not. Our advantage is that we consistently field strong teams, and not when we feel like it. Last year we were ahead of Salford going into the final weekend only to be overtaken at the final meeting. Malcolm does not think that they will be as strong this year.
Mike H and Rob D are away for the first meeting and Tom and Malcolm are tbc.
The xc races are fun and Heaton Pk is a top course. Woods, streams and undulations. A bit of mud but not too much!
The more runners the better, no entry needed, just turn up. The club pays. Anyone wanting to know more, please just ask me.
