Rob Downs vanishes at start of race !!
In my first photo – Rob can be clearly seen in the middle, standing right behind the Trafford runner (303), when under starter's orders. (click on photos for larger image)
But, is missing seconds later when I took my next photo. (there's no photoshop trickery here)
So, where is he ? Leave comments as to possible explanations however fantastical. No prizes, just a bit of fun.
I'll give my take on this in the newsletter, and (hopefully) Rob will give his 'view' too.

Rob got a slow start. He is one metre to the left of Jim in the 2nd photo.

I think Rob is drafting behind Stuart Doyle, if you look closely you can just see an ear.
If you look below Stuart Doyle (Vale Royal) you can see my blue running shoe – Stuart has long black socks and red shoes.
