Cheshire 10k

Arley,  Sunday March 30th.

Gail (47:31) beat me in the last 500m when this race was run in September but today she was preserving her strength for the marathon.  Not so Alan (41:38) who ran a PB for the second consecutive week, nor Janine (39:56) who went under 40 minutes for the first time in September but now has done it three times. Julie (48:35) comfortably achieved her ambition of getting under 50 minutes, Paul (41:09) had hoped to go a little faster.

Simon (48:16) improved on his September time whereas I (46:34) was slower. My legs ached every bit as much in the afternoon as they had after last Sunday's Half so, at least, I had the satisfaction that lack of effort wasn't the problem.

This is a fast course, it was a windless day, I  found the temperature, 11o, perfect but others felt it warm. Somewhere ahead were Rob (35:43, 2nd. M45),  Di (35:66, 4th. girl) and Allan (37:15)

  1. Did anyone else think that they’d moved the start by about 25m, so it was about 50m longer than the September race. On my Garmin map the start was the other side of the tree in September? Hope everyone got out of the field ok, it was a bit of a lottery with the mud where I was at the south exit of the field and I think the tractor was going to be busy!

  2. I was at the wrong end of the car park, it took me longer to get out than run the race.
    Di’s time was 36:55
    Simon was 3rd. V70 and Ian 4th. V65

  3. Trevor’s not down as ‘Wilmslow’ in the results, 36:02, 3 seconds faster than Trafford.

  4. We almost got stuck in the field too but my expert driving saved us 😉
