Well while it was nice and warm in Wilmslow. Paul chose to start much earlier elsewhere – where he could see the sea.
Their festival weekend consists of a 5k and youth race on Saturday; and on Sunday; a marathon; half, 10k and 5k!
The Half marathon course is said to be flat and fast and with a coastal setting too!
The course starts at the Western End of the Molos Park. The Runners head to the East, covering a distance of approximately 10KM with a destination the ruins of the Ancient City Kingdom of Amathus! Once at the Ancient Kingdom, the runners will turn to the West again for the final stretch of the race towards the Molos Park!
Sounds a great course! But how did Paul do?
Is this the time to pass on the baton to youth? Young Greg showed clean pair of heels to dad.
Both second in their categories.

Thanks for writing this up, Patrick. Definitely time to pass over the baton to Greg! A well-organised event with great sea views, mainly but not entirely flat on an out-and-back course. Sunny but unseasonably cool and a strong cross wind which bothered me at times. The race was postponed from 2020 and again from November 2021 due to the pandemic, hence the unfortunate clash with WRF, and was organised with strict social distancing at the start as Cyprus still has some COVID protocols in place. Free non-alcoholic beer and ice-cream at the finish!
