Well Wilmslow runners are keeping the standards very high at the moment.
Saturday saw 30 members run at 14 events. 7 of our members got top AGs at their events: Nicky, Barry, GrahamS, Tim, Mike, Sharon and Angela.
5 top finishers too: Barry, Graham, Sam, Sharon and Rebecca.
Bramhall witnessed Barry first to finish with an AG of 81.4%. A consistent Paul matched the time he last ran there and Craig turned out for his first parkrun for almost 2 years.
Keeping with firsts: at a quiet Cheadle Graham kept his cross-country legs loose, romping home first by almost a minute.
Sam and Sharon were first to finish at Wilmslow; Rebecca also was first home at Salford where she first timed. Club friend Malcolm showed perseverance at Lyme Park. He come third, then second at the two previous runs. This time he was first. Mind you it’s his favourite course – and he does hold the Category record there which he set in 2019.
Frankie must have benefited from XC as she first timed at Lichfield with her fastest parkrun for over 2 years. So must Huma who PB’d knocking 5 minutes of her 2020 time with an AG of 80.30%. That was surpassed by Nicky. She only improved her PB by just over a minute but had her best time for over 2 years and a fantastic AG of 87.77%. Must be the Sunday runs round the local hills. Don ran his fastest parkrun this year.
IanS at York had his fastest time since 2019.
Speaking of hills, Angie took on Woodbank. First timing she was third female finisher. Two younger ladies may have bettered her, but no man or woman had a better AG than Angie.
The Breakfast Boys took to Runcorn. Richard was second in his category. Chris remembered to bring his breakfast money.
Time, selected by England Masters was top AG there with 83.13% and also knocking 10 seconds off his PB. Another solo runner was Mike at Keswick. An AG of 82.03% and a PB for him too by over 40 seconds. Andrew was also a Sol runner in Wales. No PB but a fast time and an AG of 80.20%. AndrewG at Stretford – where the first 10 seemed to PB – ran his fastest time there since his PB in 2016.
The No Parkrun for Old Men team were at Didsbury. Alan led John around with sufficient pace for John to PB by 10 seconds. No PBs for IanA and Roy – but good times nevertheless.
Brings us to Wilmslow. As mentioned earlier Sam and Sharon first man and Lady home. Sharon had top AG just ahead of Jim. We had 4 members finish it the top 7. Graham PB’d by 9 seconds over his July 2019 time. A consistent run from Brian and Nic. Tracy completed her 5oth parkrun by pacing runners at 25 minutes pace -without niggling her achilles and bubbles afterwards too.
Also The Harrison family trio were out – Sue getting a PB.
