Ironman Cascais 23 October 2021

An Ironman 70.3 for the uninitiated is a Marathon over 70.3 Miles in old money or 113k in new.

Last Saturday Laura took part in the Ironman at Cascais and did the full ironman  instead which isn’t a 70.3 mile jaunt.

Her 3.8k swim was followed by a 180k ride and ended with a 42.2k run 226k! It took so long her watch died after 33k! of the run.

It was Portugal’s first full-distance IRONMAN race in the breath-taking Atlantic coastal town of Cascais. Historic houses, palaces, and fortresses of bygone times over and claimed to be  one of the most beautiful race courses ever designed for a triathlon. Offering qualifying slots to the IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

First lady home was Stephanie Clutterbuck in a time of 9:52:47

Well done Laura
