Even though it was XC match day with Match 4 at Sherdley Park scheduled for the afternoon. There still was a big turnout by Wilmslow Club Members at Saturday’s Parkruns. We had 34/36 runners at 12 Events.
The Manchester B’s took to South Manchester. Nic pulled Big Al around for both their quickest parkruns this year. TracyB also had her fastest time this year too. And to top that was first on AG!
There were a few Solo runners: Colin was at the races –he first -timed at a packed York event. Andrew also first-time this week at St Helens where he ran his 200th Parkrun.- His fastest run for 4 months. JD was back at the Ally. . Rebecca chose Ormskirk this week; another fast time. But second lady to finish. Gareth posted a quick time at Burnage – Not too far off his 2016 PB time. Ran with little Sis’! I wonder if they breakfasted Afterwards.
Speaking of breakfast baps? The Breakfast Club runners and Jan took to the grass at Wythenshawe. Richard had his fastest finish since September. Jan, second in her Age Category, had her fastest run for a month a few seconds ahead of Chris. The mysterious lady; she can run but cannot hide – Carolyn had her fastest run; also since last September.
Continuing with breakfast. At Bramhall I saw Janine and Daisy saving themselves for XC. Paul too, after his Fast Track outing last week he ran a brisk time here and also was top in his AC. Me? I was second in mine!! 😊 My challenge is to revisit all the parkruns I ran over 30 minutes these last 4 years and see if I can break the 30 minute barrier! Top of the hill completed and on time at 1k. Behind at 2k. Further behind at 3k. By 4k looked to be a challenge. Forgot the watch is not great at tracking progress through the woods. So pleasantly surprised after climbing last hill and turning to run down hill to the finish. Wasn’t staying for breakfast – but one must reward one self!! Now Congleton or Cheadle next? Woodbank?Forget I ran Lyme park!!!
Qes and Huma went to the Fast Track AP racing circuit this week. Qes PB’d by nearly 20 seconds. Huma strolled around doing the 5k her way!
The ladies of the Lakes were out in Ambleside. Sally stretching her legs after a 4-year absence from Parkrunning. She first-timed with Cat. Kate kept them company.
Busy, busy, busy at Wilmslow. Sam back. First to finish, second on AG and a 14-second PB too. Andrew was second Ashley and Jim in the first ten finishers. Lydia and Ella running together first and second in their AC. Overall. JP staying local this week.
