Hot from the press. Nicky’s report of yesterdays race,
A beautiful cool, crisp autumn morning welcomed the runners for the Manchester half marathon. A slightly chaotic start but in general very well organised. A great, flat course , hence the fast times. Many thanks to Don who was my Sherpa , so I didn’t have to chance the bag drop. I had originally aimed to get under 1:45 but then was following the 1:40 pacer which was reassuring when I missed the 4 mile marker and thought I had slowed right down! There was plenty of entertainment on the route including choirs, brass bands, steel drums, DJ’s, rock bands, dancers.
I would recommend this race, quite convenient with the Metrolink, parking at Didsbury and unlikely to be hot in Manchester in October.
Great performances from our runners
