The 10km race was a new course for 2021 and in addition it had waved starts based on entrants estimated finish time to help reduce congestion and reducing the spread of COVID.
The course started and ended in the boundaries of Sandbach Rugby Club giving an extra opportunity for supporters to cheer the runners as they do a final lap of the pitches.
Soon into the race Katie Holt began to pull away from the pack to win setting not only a new fastest time for a female but also their first female race winner – coming in with a time of 33:27. Fantastic!
As for our Paul, he gained 1st V60. Though he found that running through the grass towards the end wasn’t comfy. Couldn’t find the start of the race but back in 2017 it looked like this.
