In a season where races have been few and far between, The Cheshire 10k was a rare and beautiful thing: A race that wasn’t cancelled.
The organisers had done everything possible to encourage social distancing and runners were respectful of this. Even the route had been altered, prior to the event, to accommodate the possibility of further covid restrictions.
Arley is a great location, a fast, flat course along rural lanes. It features a switchback, so every runner gets the opportunity wave and yell at their friends during the race.
Andrew was our first runner home, Kes had a great run and Huma completed their household bubble with a strong finish. Rich Coen doesn’t feature in the results yet. He came through 9k at 31minutes and then had to stop with a stitch. He says his watch is still running and he hasn’t yet ruled out nipping back to finish.
