Last week on the trails

What’s been happening with you guys last week?

Laura chose to try out what’s it like to be an ironing lady – I thought she knew that already (!) – in-between chose to run 16 times round the club track to get 10k in under 45 minutes.

Lots of guys are doing cycling.

Gareth ran a virtual RNW 10k in 51 minutes and presented himself with his medal!

RichardL has made himself a nice 10k circuit around Lindow Moss – he has a 5k one too. Is he looking to unearth another pete-man. Meanwhile the Breakaway Bikers Club coached by PeteS have been busy existing in Virtual Reality.

Julie has paced around Lyme Park. GrahamS did a much longer run including: Disley, Whaley Moor & Bowstones. Damian and Rob go much further around. And do hills of co(u)rse. – Shutlingsloe for Damian.

Craig and RichardC prefer running around Bramhall Park. Dan likes- Styall woods

Claire tried running after 8 days off – but her hip still hurts

Nicky has manged to find the ‘rep’ field next to the bypass. It’s so, so close to her home! But then again I have personally suffered from witnessed her navigation skills before

Our resident ‘David Attenborough’ has added: moorhen chicks, red deer, curlews, black lambs, and lapwings! Should learn to slow down so he doesn’t startle Snipes and make swans angry. This inspired Jan to I-Spy some Chicks. Whilst also catching site of a number of club runners on her trails.

I managed a mile run – but have suffered soreness since

AndrewC and others have been running with their offspring. Jeremy has dragged Di around.

Performance of the week? Well GrahamS has been trialling his vaporflies and run a virtual 5k in 18:52. That takes him back to 2015 when that was his fastest time too!

Apologies if there Is there anyone or anything that I have missed. Don’t forget you can let me know of your weekly achievements.

  1. I ran a 24:02 5k on the 650 circuit.. I’m not quite up to Laura’s standards for mind numbingly dull runs.. but it’s got to be up there surely

  2. Thanks for all the news Patrick, it’s a great way of keeping the club up to date. I am impressed with just how many are running and the variety of routes, particularly Rob Downs. I tend to stick closer to home, usually spotted by Andrew Whittingham, although have been over to Styal woods and Quarry Bank a few times. Keep on running everyone and take care! Roy
