On Sunday 22nd December we’ll hold the traditional Handicap familiarisation run. This originated as a familiarisation jog round the Handicap course for those who had not run it before but developed into a social run, for many at chatting pace, with a tradition of bringing along cakes and other goodies to eat afterwards. There are usually in addition a group who want a proper workout and go ahead at a faster pace. As in the Handicap itself, non-members are welcome.
So if you’re doing the handicap for the first time or like me, do it most years but still get lost in the woods, or want to take part in a fun social run, or want to practise running the course, meet for a 9 a.m. start at the Club on Sunday 22nd December. Bring flasks and treats and we congregate in the covered seats in the car park after the run.
The real thing is on Friday 27th December. Don’t forget to let Ian know if you’re running and Trevor Faulkner if you want food.
