Injury Update and Forthcoming Races

Injury Update.

James MacDonald.
James damaged his Achilles in the Northern Cross Country earlier this year and has been under the physio for the last few months. A weak Soleus muscle has been diagnosed and a recovery programme followed of strength and conditioning with a small amount of running which is still not pain free. He still has no date on a return.

Huma Rahman.
Catriona, Sally G, Doctor Kate and Huma entered the 24hour London to Paris charity cycle ride a couple of months back and Huma tore her calf during the ride. Never one to quit she got to Paris but not before she had made a bad calf worse. She is giving it a complete rest and has promised to be back in September.

Mick Fairs.
Another calf injury – at training two weeks ago – but fortunately not as bad as first feared. Mick hopes to be back training next week.

Catriona Marshall.
A suspected pulled hamstring turned out to be a trapped nerve which is affecting the hamstring. She is responding to treatment and will be back soon.

Alan Turner.
Alan features in the Park Run results most weeks but a nagging knee injury is restricting that to be the extent of his running for a year now. He believes a Tuesday night session would be too much and intends to seek further medical help to get to the bottom of the problem.

Pete Watson.
Pete has been out for a month with sciatica a couple of times this year. Every time he is almost back to full fitness it kicks off again and it came back again in the Carrs session last Tuesday.
