Summer Serier after 17 Races

HillForts with one of the lower turn-outs of the Series had the potential to be a game-changer but the impact has not been dramatic. Birchwood, as a Grand Prix race, closer to home, would be unlikely to be a points bonanza except that Tony tells me the Wilmslow entry is low.

A clarification on bonus points for Parkruns and Distance races. These apply to the Main Table but not the Ability Leagues. However, your combined time for Lyme Parkrun + 3 of your choice, does count as a normal race in both the Main and Ability Leagues.

Damian, Tom and Sharon keep their places on the podium. Matt, Vincent, Jarrod, Tim, Steve and Christian and Janine make-up the Top Ten.

Leanne makes it 42 who now have the 7 races to qualify for the competition and the mug (the final total in both 2015 and 2014 was 61).

Those who have run six races are led by Andrew, Richard and Craig.

The five-race runners are led by Mike, Brian and James.

Top of the four-race runners are Peter Speake, Allan and Jeremy.

The enthusiasts. Bernard, Matt and Ian have run 14 races. Tom and Jarrod 13.

Ladies:              Unchanged. Sharon (now 8 wins) leads Diane (5) and Janine (3).

 League 1:         Unchanged. Damian (7), Tom (1), Sharon (1).

League 2:         Unchanged. Matt (10), Jarrod (4) and Tim (1.)

League 3:         Unchanged but becoming more competitive. Gareth (7 ) Bernard (6) and Tony (3).

League 4:         James (7), Sally (5 ), Angela (4).    League 4 appears to have suffered from the London Marathon. Gail was injured training and was forced to miss both the race itself and the early Series races, she is not yet back to her best. Sharon was also injured training but ran the Marathon where she struggled badly and has raced little since. Carolyn ran an excellent Marathon but now has missed a number of races with an Achilles problem, which may or may not be linked to her marathon training.            Kate has not raced this year, degeneration of the knee and Gavin’s heart problem has also kept him out of the Series.             Rachel has run surprisingly well given that she gave birth in January but has only managed a few races.         Colin ran the first five races but then disappeared.          The primary interest now in League 4 is for second place; with both Angela and Sally in excellent form.

League 5:         HillFort was not Leanne’s (3) best race but it takes her to the top of League 5. Julie (1) did run well and moves up to second. Don (2) is third. Catriona has now run 6,won 6. Injured Jan has 4 wins.

League X:         Unchanged Vincent (6) leads Pete (3) and Mark. All three now have the 7 qualifying races and will move across into the appropriate ‘ability’ league next year.

The 2016 Rules are on the website, reminders:-

  • 7 races to qualify.
  • 12 races (at least 5 on and 5 off road) for the running shirt.
  • Main Table bonus points for park runs.
  • Main Table bonus points for long races.
