Injury update

Damian Nicholls.

Damian worked with me for a year on the church conversion I did. He was always wonderful company, worked incredibly hard but he and Health and Safety just didn’t get along. So not the biggest surprise to learn that he fell off a ladder last Thursday – was it secured at the top? Er no! Joking aside, his shoulder and back are very sore and running is out for a few days. He reckons he did harbour ideas of running the Sale Sizzler last Thursday after the accident but Arthur Walsham (V80) shuffled past him on the track so he sacked the idea!

Carolyn Hirons.

Using the marginal gains philosophy, Carolyn bought a pair of lightweight racing flats which certainly improved her pace but have damaged her Achilles. She is hoping to make the start line for the Pie and Peas on Wednesday.

Jan Wyles.

Never a lady to do things by halves, Jan has a problem with both ankles. The right one is long standing which she is treating with strength and stability exercises. The left one got strained a few weeks back. She has been told to run only on flat, even surfaces which must continue for a further two weeks. It doesn’t appear to be affecting her pace as whilst the rest of us were over the Meerbrook hills, she managed a p b for the Wilmslow Parkrun.

Tim Billington.

Tim damaged his hamstring a few weeks back which has responded to rest. He is back jogging and will be back soon.

Simon Fenton.
