Since Race 8 when I last reported, Tom has replaced Matt at the top of the table with Sharon moving into third. Huma and Ian, having enjoyed a moment of glory on the podium, have dropped to 12th. and 13th.
Steve is up to 4th., Jarrod to 5th. and Tim to 6th. Andy, Diane, Gareth, Bernard and Alan complete the top 10 with Trevor in 14th.
Those who have run six races are led by Richard, Christian and Tony.
Top of the five-race runners are Louisa, Chris and Sally.
Damian, Janine and Paul are the leading four-race runners
Jim, Vinny and Allan lead those on three races.
Those on less than three, might want to check their diaries, we are almost halfway through the season.
Ladies: Sharon with 6 wins leads from Diane with 2 and Huma third.
League 1: Tom leads but, Sharon, in second, has 1 win and Damian in 3rd. has 4.
League 2: Matt already has 7 wins, Jarrod 1, Tim is third.
League 3: Gareth has 6 wins, Bernard 2 and Huma 1.
League 4: Ian holds-on but is being overhauled by Sally with 3 wins and Angela with 2. James has won all his 4 races.
League 5: Trevor is also on borrowed time. Julie has won once but Janet three times. Cat has won all her 3 races.
League X: Pete and Vinny have each won 2, Mark is third.
Promotion in 2015 and 2014 worked out as 2 up, 2 down. However, injuries and people not completing 7 races made it sensible, at the end of the Series, to review the tables and not be driven blindly by the arithmetic. The same will apply in 2016.
With the creation of League X, it may be, at the end of this year’s Series, that it makes sense to consolidate the ability leagues down from 5 to 4. You need therefore to carefully watch the Main Table for, were the decision to be to go down to 4 ability leagues, then your position in it is likely to be an important determinant as to your league in 2017.
The 2016 Rules are on the website, reminders:-
- 7 races to qualify.
- 12 races (at least 5 on and 5 off road) for the running shirt.
- bonus points for park runs.
- bonus points for long race
