Sunday 13 September – Wirral Half
Oh to be anonymous. I've entered races before not expecting to see another Wilmslow runner and have always been pleasantly surprised. For the first time today I found myself on the start line without another familiar face in blue and yellow in sight. An enjoyable race with plenty of welcome support. A great course starting from Birkenhead Park and then out along the Wirral Peninsula. Very well organised. Near perfect conditions this morning. Not the perfect time for me but fairly pleased. I haven't got much distance in my legs at the moment having concentrated mainly on 5k and 10k this year. I had suggested to Paul after last Thursdays run that if I ran under 1:33 it meant a fast flat course. I ran 1:33.04. There were a few speed bumps! 44 mins out to the halfway point and bang on PB pace but a heavy legged 49 mins back.
I recommend this race. It should be a PB course really. One for my diary next year.
