Its an honour for any athlete to be asked to wear a "county vest", and two from Wilmslow had that honour yesterday.
The Inter Counties Fell Running Association Championships took place in beautiful Betwys-y-Coed yesterday in the foothills of Snowdonia.
For the first time Cheshire had junior teams running and 26 counties were represented including Northern Ireland.
Strong performances from our two representatives…Louisa Harrison and Tom McGaff.
There are no age categories…Its a pure Championship event although there was acknowledgement of certain veteran performances…Tom was the winner of the V50 category (despite actually being a V60).
The mens Cheshire team was lead home by Andy Lamont of Macclesfield and who had a fine run in 29th place.
