We had 4 first timers at Lyme Park this week with Christian coming in at 24.15 taking him to the top of the parkrun trail table, followed by Patrick now in second place with 25.11, Ian 26.52 and Don in 27.01.
At Congleton, three runners registered times in the 5k Road table, Mike Hill finishing 3rd in 18.25, 6 seconds off his best parkrun time, Doctor Matt in 19.50 his fastest parkrun time and Nicky in 22.23.
Now, I should have headed for Congleton but for some reason headed for South Manchester with Steve B. We realised our mistake on the warm up lap, standing water to say the least, can't really be described as puddles, one was 20 yards long and at least 6" deep with no way round. Andy Whittingham went to change his footwear, me and Steve hadn't planned that far ahead. Lesson, don't try South Manchester following heavy rain on a Friday.
Also making the same mistake and turning up at SM were Alan T, John P and Jan. Andy finished second with a time of 17.41, Steve in 19.38 a 5K PB, Chris 21.37, Alan in 22.52 his fastest this year… Also, his fastest this year, was John in 23.21 and Jan in a commendable 24.41 considering the conditions underfoot.
