I've had a great response to the newsletter article with several WRC members offering to be involved and help this event get off the ground – thanks! I'm waiting to hear back from parkrun but I'm hoping that we can set up a meeting with the prospective "event director" soon.
By coincidence there was a great WRC turnout at Bramhall parkrun last week which I thought illustrated what parkrun can do for us as a local club. Looking down the results Barry, Paul and I enjoyed a close race around the park and kept ourselves sharp for cross country. Richard and Phil ran close to their best times on a damp slippery day. Malcolm, Diane, Andrew, Kate and Geoff are all working back to race fitness and there is nothing like a 5k effort to help this. Paul and Janine enjoyed the fresh air while Jeremy jogged round with his daughter. Martin, Nick, Janine and Geoff all helped with the set up and organisation. There were two fast 17:30 runners in 4th and 5th place who I'm trying to persuade to join WRC.

Of course the parkrun is an even more useful session if you can just roll out of bed and jog to the start.
