Arley Hall
The country lanes around Arley hall provide a 10k course that is about as flat and fast as you could create in Cheshire. The weather was almost perfect so it was one of those dangerous days where there were no excuses – unless like Matt you'd run Langley the afternoon before. But the competition was fierce and I still managed to be both "chicked" and "codgered" with Helen Clitheroe (F40+) and Andy Green (M50+) almost a minute ahead of me by the finish. Mick had a great run to win his category and lop another 40s of his club record (subject to ratification).
This race has grown into a significant event with 1150 finishers but still had a nice friendly feel with bananas and flapjack at the finish.

yes well done Mick. A superb run.
A great race and very well organised. Although I was armed with my excuse of racing the day before I still managed a PB. Certainly a fast course. Will definitely be back here in March to go sub 40. Personally, the only disappointment was being overtaken by the brightly coloured spandex clad Mr Motivator lookalike! Its the second time he has passed me in a race in the last 12 months!
