City Of Salford 10k

Nice race around the sunny sights of Salford Quays.

Shambolic organisation.  Where's Malcolm when you need him?

1 Tesfaye Debele (Bradford Airedale) (15:19) 30:09
10 Rob Downs 1M45-49 (17:13) 34:04
21 Timothy Natrajan (17:59) 35:38
29 Andrew Whittingham 3M40-44 (18:08) 36:11
41 Mike Hill 5M45-49 (19:03) 37:19
105 Janine Ellis 2F40-44 (20:34) 40:17
132 Paul Norris 3M55-59 (20:33) 41:04
140 Matthew Taylor (20:37) 41:19
494 Sharon Jones (24:04) 47:48

5k split is in brackets.  PB for Tim.  Fantastic run by Janine taking over 2 minutes off her PB and beating all her local V40 rivals.

  1. A really enjoyable race, other than the delay at the start, it’s hard to believe that nobody thought to stop the trams!! Always good to see Nick on the way round too. This was 2 minutes or so off what I’d secretly hoped for but it’s just nice to be out there running again. Had I not been listed as MALE OPEN, I’d have finished as 4th in my category. Never mind, nobody ever remembers who was 4th (apart from me of course!!). Highly recommended race and a great morning out.

  2. Well done Sharon!
Good to see the PBs for Janine and Tim.
Where I was stood, the marshal unfortunetly had no top and until a second marshal appeared(another with no bib)I had to route 5/6 cars from the course Kings Road style shortly before the runners arrived. The initial marshal said it was not part of his brief !
It looked a little congested as you approached the 8K mark where the 5k and 10k runners had merged.
Ironically the lead car was having to weave through the front of the 5k runners !
With some changes, it has the potential to be an excellent race .
    Nick.

  3. Sharon – 4th is a great result!

  4. Strike that – I was actually 5th…doh!! Well done everybody else on their great times as well.

  5. Oi what about me! I got a PB too.
