Summer Series League Tables

after 19 races

Although, unlike Woodford, the Macclesfield Half did not bring major changes to the league tables, nor did it secure any titles, so, with 3 races to go, there is much still to play for . Once again, following a spring and summer of running, much may only be determined on the hill at Langley in the cold November mist.

The new names on the 2012 T-shirt and Mug are Ian Smallwood, Patrick Gannan and  Alan Turner. The total is now 57.

Main Table

Macclesfield makes Malcolm odd-on favourite for the title. He has 8 wins to Rob's 6 and the tie-break rule means Rob would have to win all the three remaining races.

Graham MacNeil and Jim remain joint 3rd.

The next 10 places are unchanged; Trevor, Tom, Andrew, Mike, Allan, Robert, Graham Taylor, Graham Screawn, Diane McVey and Jeremy.

Craig has gone ahead of Paul Garnett and Tony for 15th.

Ian Smallwood has come-in at 18th, one point ahead of Jarrod.

Diane Bygrave has drawn level with Kate at 28th.

Nicky has moved ahead of Andy and Chris to 31st.

Patrick has come-in at 40th. and Alan at 46th.

Another 19 have the potential of completing the seven qualifying races.

Ladies

Diane McVey is already 2012 Lady Champion.

Diane Bygrave moved closer to Louisa, they remain 3rd and 2nd.

Nicky has drawn level with Janine into 4th.

No change for Kate, Christine or Sally.

Amanda and Sharon Jones  remain tied at 9th.

The remainder of the table is unchanged.

Sharon Johnstone needs only one more race to qualify and could finish second, as could Katy, but she is in danger of running out of races.

 Division 2

Jeremy's third 60-points means that he can equal Allan's six but Graham, with four wins, is a more realistic challenger. Diane, in 3rd. place, has one win.

Craig has closed to within a point of Paul Garnett. Ian has come-in at 7th.

The other places are unchanged.

Division 3 is the most intriguing

Louisa retains her lead of two points over Matt.

Diane's win means she is level with Gareth, they are only one point behind Matt and Janine is just a further point back. Steve is three behind Janine.

Andy is one point behind Kate with Nicky a point behind Andy.

The top 8 are all still in contention for the title.

Sally and John are tied in 12th. place

Alan has come-in at 14th. and Patrick at 15th.

 Division 4

Sharon,already 2012 Division 4 Champion enjoyed her ninth win.

Julie and Simon remain equal in 2nd. Unless either of them, or Huma, who is only a point behind, can beat Sharon in one of the three remaining races it will go to the tie-breaker; their eighth, or maybe
ninth race. This would currently favour Simon.

Elspeth has overtaken Trevor and moved-up to 9th .

  1. Hi all at Wilmslow….
I’ve noticed that you’ve included the Langley 7 in your summer (?) series for which we are most grateful… hopefully East Cheshire Hospice are too as all race proceeds go to them.
I’d like to have a rough idea, if possible, how many from Wilmslow are likely to race, (you’re all welcome and I don’t think the race will fill before the day but you never know), the reason is that, as you probably know, all finishers get a bottle of beer (or cider) and I have to buy the beer… so a big last minute entry will have me weaving all over the road clanking to and from the nearest off licence with 150 bottles of sneck lifter on the back of the bike.
I’m guessing at say 30 to 35 – do you reckon this is about right ?

  2. Julian – I think that there’ll be a good turnout at Langley for the traditional “Summer” Series finale. However you might lose a few who are doing Tatton Half the next day.
