North West Counties Relays ( Men ) Saturday 15th September

I am a big fan of relays and always have been since the 1970's competing in many : Round Derwent Water Relays being then a big hit .

Its a different discipline, good for support and even more teamship for all .

And so it was Marbury Park , mid Cheshire on Saturday : A scenic country park with both men and ladies completing a 5.4k leg ( two 2.7k loops).A warm afternoon , child friendly for those running with families . Don was on hand to take photos and Dave Read , Paul Sanders and Allan Mccormick to support .

72 teams in the mens ( four years ago it was 35) …Great for the relays but not great for us !

  2. While we were enjoying the team aspects of the relays last saturday, Robert Wilson had politely declined to take part with a feeble excuse of having a splash in the sea, a pleasant cycle on the counrty lanes and a coastal jog arranged for the following morning – otherwise known as Ironman wales.
    I thought I should share that he finished a fantastic 77th, 15th MV40 (field of almost 1300) in 10:34:28 – including a marathon to finish in 3:27.
Well done Robert, an awesome result! See you at training tomorrow????
