The times above listed , although relevant to you are important , to non-marathon runners like me are irrelevant , it,s just a huge achievement of which you all should be proud ! Some will be disappointed , some will reflect on what might of been , but as a novice runner with some understanding of the sacrifice and suffering to achieve even small improvements in performance , I understand what those months of training mean to you . I watched this morning a sea of humanity running , walking , suffering , some for personal glory , many for causes close to their hearts , I salute you all .
Heroes !
All of you !
Enjoy the post marathon !!
Though not my finest hour, or 4 of them to be more precise, the support on the course from Wilmslow Running Club members and the partners of some of the runners was absolutely fantastic. It was so nice to get a huge cheer from so many familiar faces in the crowd, so a huge thankyou to katy, Nicky, Sue, Sarah, Elspeth and the partners of Janine, Gail and Steve….and anyone else who might have cheered but I missed.
See you when I can walk again.
Huge congratulations to all of you – looking forward to tales, pics and race reports when you have recovered sufficiently. Hope everyone enjoyed the day and got home safely without any war wounds.

Can I echo Doddy’s comments. Going off fast knowing that it will hurt later on doesn’t make it any easier!! The support does though and for that I applaud you all. A special congrats to the Ponytail. I saw her at the start, she was in the zone, she was looking for a sub 3:30 and duly delivered – a great piece of long distance running, check the splits.
