This ladies only race was the 5th counter for the ladies Grand Prix series.
As always the girls did us proud. Clare H providing directions to Laura and Christine – they arrived as we were massing at the starters sign . Guess Spectrum Striders didn't think a bunch of women could find the start along the path 300m away.
Clare also came up trumps with childcare for Aron Rudd – he was a star waiting for us during the showery race.Although well marshalled some of the marshalls were less than alert – allowing both Louise and Christine to take wrong turns before redirecting them. I know I had to ask twice – the course runs along some of the 10K route in the opposite direction.
A spray of flowers for all finishers was appreciated. PBs for Laura and Louisa – making her WRC debut. Clare y jarred her back by landing in a pothole during a sprint finish. We have done enough to keep our GP lead tho' we weren't 1st on the day.Only Macclesfield or Spectrum can catch us.
Pie and Peas is the next counter – for both Men and Ladies Wed 3/8/11.
