Conditions near perfect on the day & congratulations must go out to Mike for a great win in a blistering time. Having bumped into him at the pre start assembly, recall he said he was going to take it easy & treat it as a training run, respect!
Must say having been told the course was a tad easier than Macc, time on the day, unfortunately didn’t reflect this being 10 seconds or so slower. None the less a lesson in tapering perhaps, the week before, with the need to lay off speed & 8 mile tempo run, two days before – enthusiasm getting the better of me.
Good to see blue & gold vests out…….

Sorry Rob but I made Congleton a little easier than Macc by finishing 50s quicker – previous experience perhaps. However your time is alot nearer a sub 3hr marathon than mine – would gladly swap!!
