An excellent second day saw our team reach Monmouth, well ahead of schedule. They had planned to stop at Chepstow, but felt strong after crossing the Severn Bridge and 'just kept on going'. So their second day of cycling covered 130 miles, averaging 15mph.
Conditions were, as everywhere, very hot. The team caught another group, also on a Land's End to John O'Groats mission, who were travelling light, and the two teams rode together for a short time. The other riders were benefitting from a support vehicle, but soon dropped off the pace and took a different route. It seems the major End-to-End routes are busy at this time of year, and at times a peleton forms from multiple groups - mostly led by Malcolm!
If all goes well they will reach Nantwich tomorrow. Any support on the next leg, from Nantwich North, would be very welcome.
