Bramhall parkrun: Event 78

17 October 2009

The park was at its crisp autumnal best this week and 243 runners crunched through the leaves and beechnuts to produce an impressive total of 78 course PBs. At least forty people were here for the first time, and hopefully will be back to run even faster in future.

Rob Downs clocked up his 17th victory despite having to leap over an aggressive goose on lap one. Rob’s time of 16.36 gave him the day’s highest age-graded score of 85.44%. Paul Hicken and Nathan Mayo completed the top three, with early leader Pete Wall in fourth with a 21-second PB.

In the women’s race Louise Rudd successfully defended her 100% record with her 11th win from 11 starts, and finished an impressive 10th overall in a course PB of 19.33. She was followed by Caroline Gocer and Jane Mulryan whose new PB of 21.33 takes her up to third on the F50 all-time list. Meanwhile, Jean Skitt’s 30.16 sees her go top of the F65 rankings.
