In a change from the rain or ice in previous years the handicap the in winter sunshine helped a record turn-out and a quality field, although the course was not entirely free from mud and one or two had navigational problems.

A deserved win by Gareth, denied a rejuvenated Roy his second win in three years with Steve Russell taking the oher podium place and Sarah Waite the first lady.
