Bramhall parkrun: Event 33

29th November 2008

It was bitterley cold in the freezing fog whether you were helping, running or both.  I managed to stay ahead of Bashir Hussain long enough to show him the route before he raced off to set the MV40 record.  It was so cold I never felt like I'd warmed up at all but Neil McAleece must be made of different stuff as he roared round to smash his sub 20 target and score an unlikely 5k PB.

Nicky and Don became the latest Wilmslow members to brave the early start and have now both found a pint sized nemesis (see photos below).

1. Bashir Hussain 16:44 (83.47%)
2. Rob Downs 17:10 (81.94%)
3. Stuart Parrott 17:39 (80.36%)
10. Neil McAleece 19:40 (66.69%)
22. Geoff Gilbert 20:53 (74.86%)
26. Don Bullough 21:13 (70.07%)
33. Nicky Mowatt 22:01

105 finished 5k

  1. Enjoyed the run out despite being well beaten by this wee lassie from Stockport Harriers, who finished as first female on the morning and one to watch out for in the future. In fact, I paced Mollie (LW14) most of the way to a new sub 21 min pb! Felt fine for the first lap and managed to hold off Geoff, but marathon tiredness seem to kick in on the second lap allowing Geoff to ease past and then Mollie to skip past on the last hill. Well, that’s my excuse for the time-being.
