Bramhall parkrun: Event 32

22nd November 2008

Malcolm was resting Malcolm-style after a police cross country so it was left to Rob and Stuart to try to catch a speedy visitor from the London parkruns.  Surely he'd struggle away from the flat, soft, dry southern parks.  We sensed that we'd got him when he thought he'd finished after one lap but he pressed on maintaining a 5m gap.  Going into the second lap I set the geese and ducks on him but to no avail and we had to settle for the minor places.

It was rather chilly – I'll leave Trevor to give the exact details of temperature and wind chill.  And soft underfoot with a chicane around the pipeworks – so a good effort from Steve and Gareth to improve their course PBs.

Overall the quality of the competition is improving with 25 runners under 21 minutes on a course that runs 30 – 60s longer than a flat 5k and of these 25 nearly half were Unattached.

(Saint) Nick is organising an Xmas special 20th December – more details on the website.
