Great running by Sue extended her course record and took her past the previous best “unofficial” time set by Vicky in the trial event. Nick roared back into action after a few more niggling injuries. At halfway he was challenging for the lead and in the end took 3rd ahead of Mike Cooper. Would be Yorkshireman Ian Smallwood got very wet cycling in from Wilmslow, got wetter on the run and wet again on the way home but was still there to pace Sue to the finish.
Sharon set a new category best by some margin as did Trevor. It was good to see Neil up and running again after his calf injuries.
