Jim was thoroughly warmed up having run in from Wilmslow, taken a wrong turn and ended up sprinting into the park to make the 9am start. But his killer mid-race surge was all used up and he had to settle for 2nd behind Rob who had suffered no navigation problems on this occasion. Bill is a past winner here but just lost out in the hunt for 3rd. A fast run from Ray improved his V50 course record and Ian Smallwood made a welcome guest appearance. Ellen Downs was 6th lady in her debut 5k.
