Alsager 5
As some of you may be aware I did not run at Alsager however my number was used and my name appeared on official results. I take ultimate responsibity for this misuse of number and would like to apologise to all members of Wilmslow RC.
I have E-mailed Adrian Thiemicke road race grand prix organiser asking he invoke rule 14 and remove me from all remaining gp fixtures this season.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused to all concerned.
Stuart Parrott
I was the unauthorised user of Stuart’s number in the Alsager 5 mile race. I am very sorry to Stuart and Wilmslow running club. This is not Stuart’s fault in any way. Im am fully responsible and extremely sorry for all the trouble that I have caused.
The previous Tuesday Stuart was clearly unwell and said that he would not be doing the race. I said that I had no entry and the previous year the entries were full up. Stuart said that I could have his number but only if I transferred it officially. I said that I would only use the number if I could get it officially transferred. I arrived late for the race and although I did ask for a transfer, I did not wait for a resolution and ran in a duplicate number. This was expressly in contravention to what Stuart had stipulated and I accept full responsibility for the deception involved. I was not trying to avoid the entry fee, just the time taken prior to the start of the race. I pannicked thinking I would not get to the start on time. I did not think through the consequences, and regret all the problems caused.
