Langley 7, the final race of the 2006 Summer Series. Wilmslow turned out in force with 26 runners. I will leave the race commentary to others and comment on the Summer Series impact only.
For full listings click the ‘Summer Series 2006’ link on the left of this page. The top 19 places hardly moved at all except for a couple of notable changes. I managed to steal ahead of Jeff who having suffered a month layoff was unable to defend his tied position with me and Jane Clarke managed to gain another point to draw with Mike Cooper for 13th place.
Further down the table Paul, Sally, John & Catriona completed the minimum 7 pushing a few runners further down the league. Both Nicky & Don leap frogged Peter at the final race however as did Roy over Penny.
The winners of the series have been known for some time, but nevertheless congratulation to Mike and Jane for their great performances.
38 runners completed the series this year, just beating last years record of 37. The Summer Series gets better and more competitive every year!
