Yet another Summer Series Race record….33 runners!!
1 in 8 of the runners at Gawsworth were wearing a Wilmslow vest. A few new recruits to the Summer Series: Susan Hammill, Rod Gilbert & Peter Bream (just to wreck my chances of keeping the results on one page), welcome to them.
MAIN LEAGUE
The top 16 places haven’t changed this race. Everyone appears to be trying to protect their positions, hence the big turnout. There are now 30 runners who have completed the minimum 6 with a possible 9 more in the wings.
Mikes Victory over Damian has upset things somewhat. Mike can now draw first place if Damian doesn’t beat him in both the next two races. Clearly Mike isn’t going to relinquish last years title that easily! It is now neck and neck for Rob & Stuart in 3rd place. They both must get 48 points or more to make a difference. Tom could also tie 3rd place but he needs 49 points in both the next 2 races.
Peter and Ray are separated by 1 point; as are Bill & Don and Penny and
Peter. All to play for!
LADIES LEAGUE
Jane has won the Ladies League and can no longer be caught. Congratulations to her. Kate is probably assured of 2nd place but 3rd is still up for grabs.
GROUP 4 & 5
Paul has now caught Ian after what looks like a disastrous race for Ian. Injury? Too much beer? Kate & Roy are still battling it out, but Kate appears to be finishing strong.
