Burtonwood 5 Mile – 14th July.
I made sure I turned up on time for this one, unlike my last 5 Miler at Chester. A rarity for this summer with the sun shining for the 16.00 start, but a light wind was evident on one exposed section. The third running of this race saw nearly twice as many turn up as last year to run 2 laps round the flat outskirts of the village on fairly quiet country roads. One of my training partners from work, Stuart Doyle, just failed to win, but I did get a tenner for first V40 and I got my revenge on the fun run later.
