On a rather grotty morning eight of us turned up in North Manchester to run this muddy affair, along with a couple of familiar faces from Macclesfield. This race was flagged up last year by Amanda and Rob Dunkley – why, none of us could quite understand? Having said that, I suppose it was marginally better than Daisy Nook. Needless to say, I have it on good authority that it will not be making a guest appearance in the club series at any time in the future.

I was talking to Gary Matthews from East Cheshire last Saturday and he is sending us an invitation to their “Dennis the Menace” trail race !
